TiVo included these questions on its latest consumer survey:
Which of the following things would you give up before you would give up TiVo?
My spouse/partner
N/A – I don’t have a spouse/partner I would give up my spouse/partner and keep TiVo I would give up TiVo and keep my spouse/partner
Beer
N/A – I don’t drink beer I would give up beer and keep TiVo I would give up TiVo and keep beer Chocolate
N/A – I don’t like chocolate I would give up chocolate and keep TiVo I would give up TiVo and keep chocolate
I like TiVo — probably a lot more than the average TV addict. But whoever came up with these questions is high on needle drugs. I just feel empty and sad for the people who consider giving up their spouses to keep TiVo.
Beer and chocolate? Again, no contest.
I mean, it’s not like we’re talking about an iPhone, here.

That first question needs a fourth response, “N/A, my TiVo is my spouse/partner.”
