Pride and Prejudice and Zombies continues to conquer the world. Congratulations to Seth Grahame-Smith (not to brag, but yeah, we’re Facebook friends) on making Oprah’s summer reading list, an honor pretty much guaranteed to make other writers twist into pretzels of envy. You can check the full list here. Meanwhile, I’ll be wondering which pagan deities require a sacrifice to make the same thing happen for my novel next summer. (Also on the list, and worth checking out: The Glister, which is waiting on my shelf right now, and Columbine by Dave Cullen.)
And in other zombie news, the trailer for Zombieland is up. Brief write-up by my friends over at Zap2It.com will give you the gist of the story, but it’s got zombies, so you know it’s going to be good. (My friend Jake York — who’s also a brilliant director — worked on this trailer, by the way. For the many high-powered film execs who read this blog, I suggest hiring him right away.)

With no disrespect, I always wonder how Oprah finds enough time to read so much.
I happen to worship Oprah. I even painted her some time ago: http://portalite.blogspot.com/2007/04/operah-winfrey-portrait.html
Regards and smiles,
